Your favourite cycling route in Yorkshire and the Humber – 2nd prize – Dan Wilson

I love the route as it starts in the picturesque town of Knaresborough near the stunning viaduct.
It’s then traffic free along the Beryl Burton cycle path to Riply (stop for a delightful ice cream if it’s warm!).
Another traffic free path through Riply up to Burnt Yates where a challenging hill (about the only one!) is rewarded by a speedy descent back to Riply, taking in the castle this time.
A short visit through the quiet roads around Nidd and then back over the river and into Knaresborough.
A very pleasant and picturesque ride of bang on 20 miles!
