Had my 2 sofas delivered by Sandris from Latvia to Germany. Everything went very smoothly, great service, very reponsive and caring team! Thanks again for your help!

Three-seater sofa x 1, Two-seater sofa x 1

Simon provided an excellent service at a fantastic rate, superfast delivery, would have no hesitation in recommending and most definitely will use again

Console table

Super service. Quick, on time, with plenty of warning about when pick up and delivery would be. Also, this guy looked through all his vans to try and find a hook which may (or may not) have fallen off one of our items. Excellent service! Highly recommend!

Tips for preparing for transportation

Furniture transportation

If you are moving to your new house or changing the decor it is likely you’ll need furniture transportation. Whether we’re talking about furniture you already posses or brand new furniture, furniture shipping is usually a challenge. Naturally the kind of furniture in need of shipment matters for example shelves as well as night tables might fit in regular car, but a bookcase or a kitchen table will likely become an issue. If you have a van at your disposal, you may attempt to ship the furniture yourself, but in most cases you will require assistance from a hauler. If you are searching for a trustworthy solution with a reasonable price, try using a transport marketplace, for example Clicktrans.

Preparing furniture for transportation

When you need to move your furniture, there are a couple of steps you have to follow, while preparing them for transportation. First of all, don’t forget to remove all the contents from the furniture – even if things inside are light. Jolts as well as shocks are almost impossible to avoid during transportation and every extra item roaming freely inside your furniture might damage it. Also furniture without any content will be lighter and therefore easier to move.

Dismantle every part that you can – if your furniture can be safely disassembled and transported in pieces, it will be the safest way to ship it. A bed in parts will also be much easier to place in a van. The major disadvantage of such a solution is that it takes some time and skill, as unskilfully disassembled furniture might be difficult or downright impossible to reassemble after transportation. Also – you must be very cautious when shipping all the really small pieces (like pins or screws). It’s best to transport them separately, for example in a Ziploc bag.

There is furniture (especially antiques) that mustn’t be disassembled and must be transported as a whole. How to transport them safely? Chance that you have a cardboard big enough to fit a dinner table is rather small, but there are other ways to secure it for the time of transportation. While preparing furniture for the time of shipment bubble wrap will be essential. Wrap all the fragile parts as well as every corner with bubble foil to prevent your cargo from damaging if some other load crashes into it during shipment. If you don’t have bubble wrap, you may also use cardboard to secure the corners.

If your furniture has some exceptionally fragile elements (like containing glass or delicate fabrics) you must be especially careful during shipment. When you can, it’s best to ship them independently, wrapped in protective layers of cloth and bubble foil (every glass element should be shipped like that). If it cannot be dismantled, enclose it in extra layers of bubble wrap. Don’t forget to tell the hauler that he’s shipping fragile load.

As was mentioned above, most of the time you will need help with transporting furniture. While looking for a hauler it’s convenient to determine whether he offers help with loading as well as unloading. Don’t forget to mention the floor they should be taken from and the floor they must be transported to – and if there is an elevator available.
