Motorcycles transport

Motorbikes and scooters are not only worth a lot, but also hard to secure when shipped. Although, it turns out that everything depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with shipping we have gathered. It is doable to ship a motorcycle or a scooter without obstacles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the mean of transportation. Owing to some useful tricks you will prevent any scratches, and dents that could happen if a scooter or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping the motorcycle using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only two belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or elements that may possibly tear up the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorcycle installed safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing worth considering is installing the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the van and other objects that may accompany the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or van, can help you ship your motorcycle without occupying the whole space in the van.

Remember to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to ship your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you can get  a lot of great quotes from shipping companies who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can arrange the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
