Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only expensive, but also not easy to secure while being transported. Though, it turns out that everything depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with transport we had gathered. It is feasible to transport a motorbike or a moped without problems, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Owing to some helpful tips you will avoid any damages, and dents that may happen if a scooter or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are moving your motorbike on a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is dedicated for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It's important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or parts that may possibly rip the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also doable to transport a motorbike inside a van. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorbike installed safely in one place will not vary too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing worth considering is installing the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the truck and other objects that may be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or van, can let you transport your motorbike not occupying the whole space in the car.

Do not forget to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to carry your motorcycle. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you can get  multiple great quotes from transport providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less „empty runs”.
