Kinds of caravans

A Conventional caravan – as the name suggests, this is the most common type of caravan. This type has 4 strong walls and a full height rood. It can differ in dimensions and in the amount of rooms, however in general it guarantees pretty comfortable travelling conditions. Conventional caravans may have 1 or two axles.

B Tent trailer – this type of caravan is a fine choice in case you need to decrease the costs. It can be towed by most of the cars , moreover it usually contains most of the elementary equipment, like hot water or a fridge. It provide you large living space however offers very little wind resistance.

3) Pop-top caravans -  this type is very much alike conventional caravans with the addition of a lifting roof, which can increase the living space. Pop-top caravans, similar to a tent trailer does not provide much wind resistance.

4) Pop-out caravans – this type of caravan has all the features of a pop-top caravan as well as additional expandable area on the foot and the head of the vehicle, which creates a convienient area to place extra beds, in case you are in need of them. Pop-out caravans are the most popular among large families.

5) Camper trailers – this type of caravan offers less living space than most of the types described above, but because they provide with all the basic equipment (shower, hot water and so on) it is a comfortable as well as budget manner of travelling.

6) The fifth-wheeler – this is the biggest kind of caravan. It provides with very big amount of living space, so that whole families can travel pleasantly. Due to its considerable size,  the fifth-wheeler must be towed by a larger vehicle instead of a regular car (like a pickup truck).

Sometimes it is impossible to ship a caravan on your own – it hinges on whether you have enough time to travel necessary distance and whether the caravan itself is functional.

If you decide to hire a transport provider to ship your caravan, confirm you have the specific dimensions of the caravan. Also make sure that its insurance is up-to-date. Moreover, inform the transport provider about condition of the caravan – like whether lights work properly.

When hiring a transport provider to transport your caravan you do not have to think about your driving license or crossing the borders  - all the regulations apply to the transport provider. Moreover, shipping companies often invest in product liability insurance, which will ensure you a compensation, if any damage is done to the caravan during transportation.

Price of moving a caravan

Price of shipping a caravan depends on its dimensions and weight (as it is withmost types of loads}. Other than that , the cost is also defined by the state of the vehicle – if it is fully functional, you are likely to get cheaper price.
