Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a good mode of transport of a small cargo which does not require a big surface and may be usually stored on pallets. This method utilizes unused area in the truck by a consolidation of several independent cargos. This method is cheaper because principals may share the shipment cost with the others that also are willing to take a share of the surface available in the car. LTL cargos naturally weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles that are used in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 t and need to be accordant with the rules established in a particular region. There are many kinds of trucks which are suitable to be used in the LTL, but they should be always properly tailored to the kind of the products which will be a part of the cargo.

The financial aspect of the shipping is a result of several aspects. First of all, height and width and mass of the freightage. The person who order a shipment should also provide a delivery man an information about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you hope to be incorporated in the service – is it just the transportation or does it also cover loading and unloading.

Assuming that you notice that the cargo space available via the LTL is not sufficient to transport your product, you should choose a different option – full truck load (FTL).
