Glassware

When transporting glass, one of the crucial tasks is securing the cargo beforehand. When transporting fragile goods simple container will not ensure safe transport. You must pack the space between your cargo and walls of the box with materials that can block movement of the glass throughout transport. Good way to ensure that is to use Styrofoam or soft materials that will stop potential jolting and therefore save your fragile load from shattering. Furthermore you need to cover your load with bubble foil, especially all the parts that are fine and prone to damage. Fasten the bubble wrap with adhesive tape just to be certain it will not loosen during shipment. When you are done wrapping, you should fil all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even pieces of cardboard.

If you want to ship large items of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you ought to not only protect it from shattering, but also from fracturing. You can wrap the glass in substantial sheet of bubble wrap, secure it with Scotch tape and put it in a container. Do not forget to write on top of the container that it is fragile. You can also use pre-made stickers for delicate packages.

Smaller glassware (like glasses or bottles} can be secured by old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next step is to deposit them in a box so that they will not knock against each other during shipment. In similar manner you can secure porcelain and crystals. When shipping large glass elements (like chandeliers) it is best to add an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or clothes.

Price of glassware transport varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, distance as well as delivery days. Another price-defining factor is whether or not you need professional packing materials and guidance securing the cargo.
