Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only worth a lot, but also hard to secure when transported. Although, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with transport we got. It is possible to ship a motorcycle or a moped without obstacles, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the method of transportation. Owing to some helpful tips you could avoid any scratches, and dents that often happen if a scooter or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are moving the motorbike on a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is created for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or objects that may possibly cut the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also feasible to transport a motorcycle in a van. The protection and equipment needed to keep the motorcycle standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing worth considering will be installing the side pads to secure the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported with the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or van, can help you transport your motorcycle not occupying the entire space in the car.

Check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will suffice to transport your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting your request on Clicktrans you will receive  lots of great offers from shipping companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
