Motorcycles transport

Motorcycles and scooters are not only worth a lot, but also not easy to protect while being shipped. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with shipping we gained. It is possible to ship a motorcycle or a scooter without troubles, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the type of shipment. Owing to some useful advice you could avoid any scratches, and dents that are likely to happen when a scooter or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping the motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer specially dedicated for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or parts that may possibly rip the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also feasible to transport a motorcycle inside a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorcycle standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing worth considering is the installation of the side pads to secure the insides of the car and other objects that may be transported just next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or another vehicle, can let you transport your motorcycle without occupying the whole space in the truck.

Do not forget to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will suffice to transport your motorcycle. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will surely get  lots of great quotes from shipping companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can adjust the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less „empty runs”.
