Glassware

When transporting glass, the most important task is securing the cargo for the transport. In this case simple box will not be sufficient. You have to fill the gaps between your glassware and walls of the package with substances that will prevent any jolting of the glassware during transport. One of the ways to guarantee that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will block potential tremors and protect your fragile load from breaking. Additionally you can wrap your cargo in bubble wrap, especially all the elements that are thin and extra fragile. Tie the bubble wrap with adhesive tape to make sure the bubble wrap won’t unfold during shipment. When you finished covering, you should fil all of the gaps in the box – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you need to move large pieces of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you have to not only shield it from shattering, but also from fracturing. You should wrap the glass in substantial layer of bubble foil, fasten it with adhesive tape and put it in a cardboard box. Remember to write on top of the package that the box is fragile. You can also use pre-made stamps for delicate loads.

Smaller glassware (like goblets or bottles} can be wrapped in outdated magazines, paper or even towels. Next step is to place them in a box so that they won't knock against each other while transported. The same way you may ship porcelain and crystals. When transporting big glassware elements (like chandeliers) it is good to use an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or towels.

Price of glassware transport is connected with weight and dimensions of the cargo, route lenght as well as delivery dates. Other price-defining factor is whether or not you want to use professional packing materials as well as guidance securing the load.
