Glassware

When it comes to shipping glassware, one of the most important tasks is securing the load safely. In this case simple package will not be enough. You must pack the areas between your cargo and walls of the container with substances that will help to avoid any jolting of the glass during transport. The best way to ensure that is to fill the box with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will block possible jolting and protect your fragile load from damaging. Additionally you should wrap your load in bubble foil, especially all the parts that are delicate and prone to damage. Tie the bubble foil with adhesive tape just to be certain the bubble wrap won’t unfold during shipment. After wrapping, you need to fil all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even pieces of cardboard.

If you need to move large pieces of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you need to not only protect it from breaking, but also from scratching. You need to wrap the glassware in thick sheet of bubble wrap, secure it with Scotch tape and deposit it in a cardboard box. Remember to write on top of the cardboard box that the box contains glassware. You may also use pre-made stamps for delicate cargo.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} can be secured by old newspapers, paper or even towels. Next phase is to deposit them in a cardboard box so that they will not knock against each other during transport. The same way you should secure porcelain and crystals. When shipping bigger glassware products (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or clothes.

Price of glassware transport depends on weight and dimensions of the load, distance and delivery days. Another price-defining factor is whether or not you want to use expert packing materials and assistance securing the load.
