Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only expensive, but also hard to secure while being transported. Though, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we have gathered. It is feasible to ship a motorcycle or a scooter without obstacles, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the mean of shipment. Thanks to some helpful tricks you can prevent any damages, and dents that are likely to happen if a moped or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are transporting the motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is created for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or elements that may possibly cut the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also possible to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment obligatory to keep the motorbike installed safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned above. One thing that should be taken under consideration is installing the side pads to secure the insides of the truck and other objects that might be transported with the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or another vehicle, can let you transport your motorbike not occupying the whole space in the van.

Remember to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to transport your motorcycle. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a truck could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting your request on Clicktrans you will surely receive  lots of great offers from transport providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
