Glassware

When moving glass, one of the most important things to think about is securing the cargo for the transport. In this case simple container will not ensure safe transport. You have to pack the areas between your cargo and walls of the box with substances that can prevent any jolting of the glassware during shipment. Good way to do that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or soft materials that will block possible jolting and save your fragile cargo from damaging. Additionally you could cover your glassware in bubble foil, particularly all the parts that are fine and prone to damage. Secure the bubble wrap with adhesive tape to make sure the bubble wrap won’t loosen during transport. After covering, you should fil all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you need to ship big items of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you should not only secure it from shattering, but also from fracturing. You can wrap the glassware in substantial sheet of bubble wrap, close it with Scotch tape and deposit it in a box. Remember to mention on top of the container that the container should be handled with care. You could also use pre-made stickers for fragile loads.

Small glassware (like glasses or bottles} can be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even towels. Next phase is to store them in a box so that they won't touch during shipment. The same way you may transport porcelain and crystals. When transporting large glass items (like chandeliers) it is best to use an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or towels.

Price of glass transport is determined by weight and dimensions of the load, distance as well as delivery days. Another price-defining factor is whether or not you need professional packing materials as well as guidance securing the cargo.
