Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only valuable, but also not easy to protect when shipped. Although, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with transport we have. It is doable to transport a motorbike or a moped without hussle, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the mean of transportation. Thanks to some useful tricks you could avoid any damages, and dents that often happen if a moped or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping your motorbike using a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer specially designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only two strapping belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or objects that may possibly tear up the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also possible to transport a motorcycle in a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike resting safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned above. One thing worth considering will be installing the side pads to secure the insides of the van and other objects that might be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or van, can help you ship your motorbike without occupying the entire space in the van.

Do not forget to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to carry your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a truck could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will surely receive  a lot of great offers from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can adjust the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
