Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only worth a lot, but also not easy to protect when transported. However, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with transport we gained. It is doable to transport a motorcycle or a moped without troubles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the method of transportation. Owing to some helpful tips you will prevent any damages, and dents that often happen when a moped or motorcycle is not properly cared for.

When you are transporting your motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer specially created for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It's crucial to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or items that may possibly rip the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also doable to transport a motorbike in a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorcycle resting safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing to be considered is the installation of the side pads to secure the insides of the van and other objects that might accompany the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or van, can let you transport your motorcycle without occupying the entire space in the van.

It is important to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will suffice to carry your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting your request on Clicktrans you can get  plenty of great offers from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of „empty runs”.
