Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only valuable, but also difficult to secure when transported. Though, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we gained. It is feasible to transport a motorbike or a scooter without obstacles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Owing to some helpful tricks you will avoid any damages, and dents that may happen when a scooter or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping your motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this situation you will need only two strapping belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or items that may possibly tear up the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also doable to transport a motorcycle inside a truck. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorbike standing safely in one place will not vary too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration is the installation of the side pads to protect the insides of the van and other objects that might be transported with the motorbike.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or another vehicle, can help you transport your motorbike without occupying the entire space in the van.

Remember to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to transport your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you will receive  multiple great offers from shipping companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can adjust the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
