Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only expensive, but also not easy to protect when shipped. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we have gathered. It is possible to ship a motorbike or a moped without troubles, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the method of transportation. Thanks to some useful advice you can avoid any scratches, and dents that often happen when a scooter or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping your motorcycle on a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this situation you will need only 2 belts. It's crucial to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or parts that may possibly tear up the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also possible to transport a motorbike in a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing worth considering will be installing the side pads to protect the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported with the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or van, can let you transport your motorbike not occupying the whole space in the van.

Check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be enough to carry your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a truck could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you will receive  plenty of great quotes from shipping companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can arrange the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less „empty runs”.
