Glassware

When it comes to transporting glass, one of the most important tasks is packing the load before transport. When transporting fragile goods simple box will not be enough. You must fill the gaps between your cargo and walls of the box with materials that will prevent any jolting of the glassware throughout transport. One of the ways to do that is to fill the box with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will prevent potential jolting and protect your glass from fracturing. Additionally you need to wrap your glassware in bubble wrap, especially all the parts that are thin and prone to damage. Close the bubble wrap with Scotch tape just to be certain the bubble wrap won’t unfold during transport. After wrapping, you need to fil all of the empty space left in the container – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you want to transport big items of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you ought to not only protect it from breaking, but also from scratching. You need to wrap the glassware in thick sheet of bubble wrap, tie it with adhesive tape and store it in a box. Remember to mention on top of the box that the package contains glassware. You could also use pre-made stickers for fragile loads.

Smaller glassware (like glasses or bottles} may be wrapped in outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to deposit them in a cardboard box so that they will not touch while shipped. The same way you may package porcelain and crystals. When shipping big glassware items (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, for example sponge or clothes.

Price of glass transport is connected with weight and dimensions of the cargo, distance and delivery days. Additional price-defining aspect is whether or not you need expert packing materials and aid securing the load.
