When moving glass, one of the crucial tasks is securing the cargo before transport. In this case simple box will not do. You must pack the gaps between your cargo and walls of the box with substances that can prevent movement of the glassware during transport. One of the ways to do that is to fill the box with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will prevent possible jolting and protect your fragile cargo from cracking. Additionally you need to wrap your glassware in bubble foil, especially all the elements that are thin and extra fragile. Secure the bubble foil with Scotch tape to make sure the bubble wrap will not unfold during shipment. When you finished covering, you need to fil all of the empty space left in the box – with Styrofoam or even pieces of cardboard.

If you need to transport large elements of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you ought to not only protect it from breaking, but also from fracturing. You must surround the glassware with thick layer of bubble wrap, tie it with Scotch tape and place it in a container. Make sure to mention on top of the cardboard box that the box is fragile. You can also use pre-made labels for fragile cargo.

Small glassware (like glasses or bottles} can be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to place them in a cardboard box so that they will not touch while shipped. The same way you can ship porcelain and crystals. When shipping big glass items (like chandeliers) it is best to add an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or towels.

Price of glass shipment varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, route lenght and delivery days. Other price-defining factor is whether or not you require using professional packing materials and aid securing the cargo.
