Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a useful way of transport of a relatively small cargo which does not require a spacious place and is usually transported on pallets. This method benefits unused surface in the truck by putting together more than one different freightages. LTL is affordable because people have an opportunity to split the price of the shipment with the others who also want to use a share of the area available in the car. LTL shipments typically have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Trucks which are used in the LTL weigh over 3.5 tons and need to be compatible with the rules constituted in one location. There are different types of cars which are fit to serve in the LTL shipping, but they must be always properly tailored to the size of the products which will be shipped.

The cost of the shipping is a result of a few factors. Firstly, magnitude and mass of the product. The person who order a shipment should also provide a carrier data about the way the product is packed. You should also mention what you hope to be incorporated in the service – is it simply the transportation or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

Whenever you realise that area available via the LTL is not sufficient to dispatch your cargo, you may make use of its alternative – full truck load (FTL).
