Transporting a caravan

Kinds of caravans

1) Conventional caravan – as the name suggests, this is the most popular type of caravan. It has four sturdy walls and a full height rood. Pop-out caravans are especially favored by large families.

5) Camper trailers – this type of caravan offers less living space than the types mentioned above, but thanks to having all the basic equipment (shower, fridge and so on) camper trailers are considered to be a comfortable and affordable manner of travelling. 

6) The fifth-wheeler – this is the largest type of caravan. It provides with considerable amount of living space, so that whole families can travel in comfort. Due to its considerable size,  the fifth-wheeler must be towed by a larger vehicle instead of a regular car (such as a pickup truck).

Sometimes it is impossible to transport a caravan on your own – it hinges on whether you have enough time to drive necessary distance and whether the caravan itself is capable of covering the distance.

If you want to hire a shipping company to move your caravan, confirm you give them the specific dimensions of the caravan. Additionally confirm that its insurance is up-to-date. Futhermore, instruct the hauler about condition of the caravan – e.g. whether brakes work properly.
