Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents an effective form of shipment of a relatively small commodity that does not demand a lot of space and can be often stored on pallets. This method takes advantage of spare surface in the car by merging a few different freightages. This method is economical because people have an opportunity to share the price of the shipment with other people that also are willing to take a bit of the surface available in the car. LTL cargos ordinarily have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Trucks which are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and are required to be accordant with the arrangements constituted in a particular country. There are numerous versions of trucks which are suitable to serve in the LTL, but they have to be always correctly tailored to the size of the cargos that will be delivered.

The cost of the delivery depends on several features. Primarly, content and weight of the cargo. The person ordering should also provide a delivery man an information about the way the product is packed. You should also mention what you expect to be incorporated in the service – is it no more than the shipment or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

In case that it turns out that space available via the LTL is not sufficient to transport your cargo, you could choose a different option – full truck load (FTL).
