Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a useful method of delivery of a smaller consignment which does not demand a big surface and can be often placed on pallets. LTL makes use of unused surface in the car by putting together more than one autonomous freightages. This method is cost-effective since businesses have an opportunity to distribute the price of the shipment with the others that also are planning to take a fraction of the space available in the truck. LTL shipments normally weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Cars that are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and need to be in accordance with the requirements being in force in a particular location. There are different types of vehicles which could be used in the LTL, but they have to be always adequately tailored to the size of the elements that are going to be moved.

The cost of the delivery is based on a few aspects. Primarly, magnitude and weight of the freightage. The person who order a shipment need to also present a transporter data about the way the product is packed. It is also worth mentioning what you wish to be covered by the service – is it simply the transport or does it also consist of loading and unloading.

Whenever you notice that space available via the LTL is not enough to ship your object, you can decide to use another option – full truck load (FTL).
