Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a practical method of transport of a not big freight that does not need a lot of space and can be usually kept on pallets. LTL takes advantage of extra area in the car by putting together several autonomous cargos. This kind of shipment is affordable as principals may share the transportation costs with other people who also are willing to take a bit of the space available in the car. LTL shipments naturally weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles that are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 t and must be accordant with the requirements established in one region. There are plentiful of kinds of cars that can serve in the LTL shipping, but they must be always adequately adjusted to the dimension of the products which will be transported.

The price of the transportation is calculated depending on a few aspects. Firstly, size and mass of the commodity. The person ordering should also provide a delivery man data about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you hope to be covered by the service – is it no more than the shipment or does it also include loading and unloading.

When you notice that the cargo space available via the LTL is not enough to ship your product, you could use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
