Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes a practical method of delivery of a not big consignment which is not in need of a lot of space and is usually transported on pallets. This method takes advantage of extra area in the truck by merging several independent cargos. This kind of shipment is cost-effective because people are able to split the price of the shipment with the others that also need to use a bit of the area available in the truck. LTL shipments normally have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Vehicles which are used in the LTL have a weight of over 3.5 t and must be congruous with the arrangements that are in force in one region. There are different versions of cars which are appropriate to serve in the LTL shipping, but they must be always appropriately tailored to the kind of the commodity that are going to be transported.

The financial aspect of the shipment is dependent on several features. First of all, volume and weight of the cargo. The person ordering need to also present a carrier data about the packaging. Don’t forget to mention what you hope to be covered by the service – is it nothing but the shipment or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

Assuming that you notice that space available via the LTL does not suffice to ship your object, you may use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
