Less than Truckload (LTL)

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a practical mode of transportation of a not big consignment that does not need a big area and is very often transported on pallets. It takes advantage of available area in the car by putting together a few independent cargos. This kind of shipment is cheaper since businesses are able to share the shipment cost with the others who also are willing to use a bit of the surface available in the car. LTL cargos normally weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles which are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 t and have to be accordant with the arrangements constituted in a particular location. There are plentiful of kinds of vehicles which are fit to be used in the LTL shipping, but they must be always properly suited to the size of the elements which will be moved.

The charge for the shipment is dependent on several aspects. Firstly, size and mass of the product. The principal should also present a delivery man data about the way the product is packed. It is also worth mentioning what you wish to be included in the service – is it just the shipment or does it also consist of loading and unloading.

When you notice that area available via the LTL does not suffice to dispatch your cargo, you could choose another option – full truck load (FTL).
