Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a good form of delivery of a small freight that is not in need of a lot of space and may be often stored on pallets. Less that Truckload makes use of spare surface in the car by combining more than one different cargos. This method is cheaper as principals may share the shipment cost with other people that also need to take a share of the surface available in the truck. LTL cargos normally have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Trucks that are used in the LTL have a weight of over 3.5 t and need to be in accordance with the requirements that are in force in a particular location. There are many versions of vehicles that may be part of the LTL, but they must be always appropriately tailored to the dimension of the elements that will be shipped.

The cost of the shipping is subject to a few features. Primarly, magnitude and mass of the object. The principal should also give a carrier an information about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you wish to be covered by the service – is it nothing but the shipment or does it also cover loading and unloading.

Assuming that you notice that area available via the less than truckload does not suffice to dispatch your object, you could choose a different option – full truck load (FTL).
