Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a good way of transport of a relatively small cargo which does not need a big area and is often placed on pallets. Less that Truckload utilizes extra surface in the car by a consolidation of several autonomous cargos. LTL is economical because principals can share the price of the shipment with the others that also have to take a fraction of the space available in the car. LTL freightages commonly weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Cars specialised in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 tons and should be in accordance with the arrangements that are in force in a particular location. There are plentiful of kinds of vehicles that could be used in the LTL, but they must be always properly suited to the dimension of the products that will be transported.

The price of the delivery is a result of several factors. First of all, size and weight of the freightage. The person who order a shipment should also present a carrier data about the packaging. It is also worth mentioning what you hope to be covered by the service – is it nothing but the shipment or does it also include loading and unloading.

Assuming that you realise that area available via the less than truckload is not sufficient to transport your cargo, you can choose another option – full truck load (FTL).
