Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) poses a practical way of transport of a relatively small cargo that is not in need of a big area and is very often stored on pallets. This method exploits available area in the truck by a consolidation of a few separate freightages. Less than Truckload is cost-effective because principals may split the transportation costs with the others that also want to use some part of the surface available in the truck. LTL freightages ordinarily weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Cars specialised in the LTL have a weight of over 3.5 tons and need to be compatible with the arrangements established in a given country. There are different types of vehicles which can be used in the LTL shipping, but they have to be always adequately suited to the size of the elements that are going to be moved.

The price of the transportation is based on a few factors. First of all, magnitude and mass of the freightage. The person who order a shipment need to also present a transporter an information about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you expect to be included in the service – is it nothing but the transportation or does it also cover loading and unloading.

When it turns out that the cargo space available via the less than truckload is not sufficient to dispatch your cargo, you can choose another option – full truck load (FTL).
