Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a practical form of transportation of a smaller commodity that does not require a big area and is often placed on pallets. This method exploits available space in the truck by merging several different freightages. Less than Truckload is affordable as companies have an opportunity to share the price of the shipment with the others who also have to use some part of the space available in the car. LTL cargos frequently weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Vehicles which are used in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 t and must be congruous with the rules that are in force in a given region. There are plentiful of kinds of trucks that are fit to be used in the LTL shipping, but they should be always appropriately adjusted to the type of the commodity that will be shipped.

The cost of the delivery is based on several features. First of all, size and mass of the cargo. The person who order a shipment need to also provide a carrier data about the way the product is packed. You should also mention what you hope to be incorporated in the service – is it simply the transport or does it also cover loading and unloading.

Whenever you notice that area available via the LTL is not enough to dispatch your product, you may decide to use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
