Very happy with Krs's service. He collected and delivered exactly when he said and was courteous, helpful and efficient.
Wonderful service, bringing a chair from London to southern Austria for 100 pounds. Really good communication, giving accurate and timely and regular information about collection and delivery times. Excellent.

If you are in the process of moving to your new home or sprucing your place up by adding some new items it’s possible you’ll need furniture transportation. Regardless of whether we’re talking about furniture you already posses or brand new furniture, furniture shipping is always a challenge. Of course the kind of furniture in need of shipment matters for example chairs as well as bedside tables could be transported inside regular car, however a bookcase or a dinner table could become an issue. If you have a van at your disposal, you can ship the furniture on your own, however in most cases you will require help from a hauler. In search for a solid service with a reasonable price, consider trying a transport marketplace, for example Clicktrans.
Preparing furniture for shipment
When you plan to transport your furniture, there are a couple of steps you should follow, while securing them for transportation. First of all, don’t forget to empty all the furniture – even if things inside are few. Some jolts and vibrations are almost impossible to avoid on the road and all of the items roaming uncontrollably inside your furniture might damage it. Not to mention that furniture without any content will be easier to load.
Disassemble every part that you can – if your furniture can be safely disassembled and shipped in pieces, that’s the best way to ship it. A bookcase in pieces will also be more simple to fit in a van. The major disadvantage of such a solution is that the disassembling can be time-consuming, as wrongly dismantled furniture can be hard or downright impossible to put back together in your new home. Other than that – you must be very careful when shipping all the really small pieces (screws etc.). It’s best to transport them together, e.g. in a Ziploc bag.
Some types of furniture (for example antiques) cannot be dismantled and have to be shipped as a whole. How to ship them securely? The possibility that you will find a box suitable to fit an armchair is not high, however there are other ways to secure your cargo for the shipping. When preparing furniture for shipment bubble foil will be essential. Wrap all the fragile elements and every corner with bubble wrap to save your load from damaging in case some other load bumps into it during transportation. If you cannot acquire bubble wrap, you can try using cardboard to protect the corners.
If your furniture has some exceptionally fragile elements (for example made of glass) you have to be especially careful while transporting it. If it’s possible, you should transport them separately, wrapped in thick layer of cloth and bubble wrap (all glass shelves should be shipped like that). If it’s a part of furniture that cannot be disassembled, enclose it in extra layers of bubble wrap. Don’t forget to mention to the transport provider that he will be shipping delicate cargo.
As was mentioned above, usually you will need help with shipping furniture. While looking for a transport provider it’s smart to find out whether he offers assistance with loading as well as unloading. Remember to mention the floor they should be taken from and the floor they must be transported to – and if there is an … elevator available.
If your furniture is valuable (also – of sentimental value) you should look for a transport provider that has a carrier liability insurance. Hiring him will probably be more expensive, but in case anything happens to your cargo during shipment, you will be entitled to compensation.
Price of furniture shipment
Since furniture is a quite diverse section, a price of furniture transportation can vary considerably. When estimating the price of transportation you have to take into consideration the route length, type of job (domestic or international), how big and how heavy the cargo is, whether the load is delicate etc. A good way to lower the price of furniture shipment is to choose a hauler who will take your furniture as a partial load – thanks to partial loads you will pay considerably less for the transportation, keeping high quality of the service.
