When transporting glassware, one of the most important tasks is securing the cargo beforehand. In this case simple cardboard box will not be enough. You must pack the gaps between your cargo and walls of the container with substances that will prevent movement of the glassware during shipment. The best way to ensure that is to fill the box with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will block potential jolting and therefore protect your glassware from damaging. Furthermore you should cover your glassware in bubble wrap, especially all the parts that are fine and prone to damage. Tie the bubble foil with adhesive tape to make sure it will not loosen during transport. When you are done wrapping, you should fil all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even pieces of cardboard.

If you have to transport big pieces of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you ought to not only secure it from breaking, but also from fracturing. You can wrap the glass in thick sheet of bubble foil, secure it with adhesive tape and deposit it in a cardboard box. Do not forget to write on top of the container that the container contains glassware. You could also use pre-made stickers for delicate packages.

Small glassware (like glasses or bottles} can be secured by outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to put them in a box so that they will not knock against each other during shipment. The same way you may transport porcelain and crystals. When shipping bigger glassware items (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or clothes.

Price of glassware shipment varies depending on weight and dimensions of the cargo, distance as well as delivery dates. Other price-defining aspect is whether or not you want to use professional packing materials as well as help securing the cargo.
