Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only valuable, but also hard to secure when shipped. Though, it turns out that everything depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we gained. It is feasible to ship a motorbike or a moped without obstacles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the type of transportation. Thanks to some helpful tricks you can avoid any damages, and dents that could happen if a scooter or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are transporting your motorbike using a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or items that may possibly rip the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also doable to transport a motorcycle inside a truck. The protection and equipment obligatory to keep the motorbike installed safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned above. One thing worth considering will be the installation of the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the van and other objects that will be transported with the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or another vehicle, can help you ship your motorbike not occupying the entire space in the car.

Do not forget to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to transport your motorbike. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you can receive  a lot of great quotes from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
