Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only expensive, but also not easy to protect while being transported. However, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we have. It is feasible to transport a motorcycle or a scooter without hussle, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the mean of transportation. Owing to some useful tips you will avoid any damages, and dents that are likely to happen when a scooter or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are moving the motorbike on a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is created for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp angles or objects that may possibly cut the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also doable to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike installed safely in one place will not vary too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration is the installation of the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported with the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or van, can let you transport your motorcycle without occupying the entire space in the van.

Do not forget to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to ship your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.
