Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only worth a lot, but also not easy to protect when transported. Although, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we have. It is possible to ship a motorcycle or a moped without obstacles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the method of transportation. Thanks to some helpful tricks you will prevent any scratches, and dents that may happen when a moped or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are moving the motorcycle on a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It's important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or elements that may possibly cut the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also possible to transport a motorcycle in a van. The protection and equipment obligatory to keep the motorbike installed safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration will be the installation of the side pads to secure the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or another vehicle, can help you ship your motorbike without occupying the entire space in the truck.

Check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to carry your motorbike. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your scooter and loading it in a truck could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will receive  lots of great quotes from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
