Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only valuable, but also not easy to protect when shipped. Though, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with transport we have. It is doable to transport a motorcycle or a moped without troubles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some useful tips you can prevent any scratches, and dents that are likely to happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are moving your motorbike on a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or parts that may possibly tear up the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike inside a van. The protection and equipment needed to keep the motorbike resting safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned above. One thing that should be taken under consideration is installing the side pads to protect the insides of the van and other objects that will accompany the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or another vehicle, can let you ship your motorbike without occupying the whole space in the van.

Remember to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be enough to transport your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you will surely get  multiple great offers from transport companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can arrange the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
