Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only expensive, but also not easy to protect while being transported. Though, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with transport we have. It is doable to ship a motorbike or a scooter without difficulties, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the type of shipment. Owing to some helpful tips you can prevent any damages, and dents that may happen if a scooter or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are moving the motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or objects that may possibly rip the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also doable to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment needed to keep the motorcycle standing safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration will be installing the side pads to protect the insides of the van and other objects that might be transported just next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or another vehicle, can help you ship your motorcycle not occupying the whole space in the van.

Do not forget to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be enough to transport your motorcycle. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you will receive  lots of great quotes from transport providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less „empty runs”.
