Glassware

When it comes to moving glassware, one of the most important tasks is securing the cargo beforehand. In this case simple cardboard box will not be enough. You need to fill the areas between your glassware and walls of the container with substances that can stop any jolting of the glass during shipment. Good way to do that is to use Styrofoam or spongy materials that will stop potential jolting and save your fragile load from breaking. Additionally you can cover your cargo in bubble wrap, particularly all the parts that are fine and prone to damage. Tie the bubble wrap with Scotch tape just to be sure it will not loosen during shipment. After covering, you need to pack all of the empty space left in the box – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you have to ship big pieces of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you ought to not only shield it from shattering, but also from fracturing. You need to surround the glass with thick layer of bubble wrap, fasten it with Scotch tape and store it in a box. Remember to write on top of the box that it is fragile. You may also use pre-made labels for delicate cargo.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} can be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next step is to place them in a box so that they won't touch during transport. In similar manner you can package porcelain and crystals. When dealing with bigger glass products (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or clothes.

Price of glass transport hinge on weight and dimensions of the cargo, distance and delivery dates. Other price-defining factor is whether or not you want to use expert packing materials and assistance securing the cargo.
