Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only worth a lot, but also not easy to secure while being transported. However, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with transport we got. It is doable to ship a motorbike or a scooter without hussle, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the type of transportation. Thanks to some useful tips you can prevent any damages, and dents that could happen if a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are transporting your motorbike using a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this situation you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or elements that may possibly cut the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also feasible to transport a motorcycle inside a van. The protection and equipment obligatory to keep the motorbike installed safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned above. One thing worth considering will be installing the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the van and other objects that may be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or van, can help you transport your motorcycle not occupying the entire space in the car.

Remember to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to ship your motorbike. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you can receive  a lot of great quotes from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their trucks. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less „empty runs”.
