Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only valuable, but also hard to secure when transported. Although, it turns out that most of it depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with transport we have. It is doable to transport a motorbike or a scooter without troubles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some useful advice you can avoid any scratches, and dents that could happen when a scooter or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are shipping the motorbike using a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or elements that may possibly tear up the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also reasonable to transport a motorcycle inside a van. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorbike standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration will be the installation of the side pads to protect the insides of the car and other objects that will be transported just next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or another vehicle, can let you transport your motorcycle without occupying the whole space in the car.

Do not forget to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will suffice to transport your motorcycle. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you will receive  plenty of great offers from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can arrange the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
