Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only expensive, but also not easy to protect when transported. Although, it turns out that everything depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with transport we got. It is possible to transport a motorcycle or a scooter without hussle, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some helpful tricks you can avoid any damages, and dents that could happen when a scooter or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are transporting your motorbike using a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this situation you will need only two strapping belts. It is important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or objects that may possibly cut the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorcycle installed safely in one place will not vary too much from other methods mentioned above. One thing that should be taken under consideration is installing the side pads to protect the insides of the car and other objects that might be transported next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or another vehicle, can let you ship your motorbike not occupying the entire space in the van.

It is important to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to ship your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your scooter and loading it in a truck could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you can receive  plenty of great offers from transport companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can organise the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their trucks. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
