Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only worth a lot, but also hard to protect while being transported. However, it turns out that everything depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with transport we gained. It is feasible to ship a motorbike or a moped without difficulties, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the mean of shipment. Thanks to some helpful advice you can prevent any damages, and dents that are likely to happen if a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are shipping the motorbike on a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is created for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only 2 belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or objects that may possibly tear up the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike inside a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike resting safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing to be considered is the installation of the side pads to protect the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported just next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or another vehicle, can let you transport your motorbike not occupying the whole space in the car.

It is important to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to transport your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you will surely receive  plenty of great quotes from shipping companies who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
