Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only expensive, but also not easy to secure while being shipped. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with shipping we have. It is doable to ship a motorcycle or a scooter without difficulties, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some valuable tricks you could avoid any damages, and dents that may happen if a scooter or motorcycle is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping your motorcycle using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only two belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or parts that may possibly cut the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also doable to transport a motorbike in a van. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorcycle installed safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned above. One thing worth considering is installing the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the truck and other objects that may be transported with the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or van, can help you transport your motorcycle not occupying the whole space in the truck.

Remember to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will suffice to ship your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a truck could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you can get  plenty of great offers from shipping companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can adjust the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
