Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only valuable, but also not easy to secure when shipped. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with transport we have gathered. It is doable to ship a motorbike or a scooter without problems, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the method of transportation. Thanks to some valuable tricks you will prevent any damages, and dents that could happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are moving your motorcycle on a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only two belts. It's essential to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or parts that may possibly tear up the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also reasonable to transport a motorcycle inside a truck. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorcycle installed safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing worth considering is the installation of the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the van and other objects that will accompany the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or van, can let you ship your motorcycle without occupying the whole space in the car.

It is important to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will suffice to transport your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will get  a lot of great offers from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can arrange the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less „empty runs”.
