Glassware

When it comes to transporting glassware, one of the most important things to think about is packing the load for the transport. When transporting fragile goods simple package will not be sufficient. You need to fill the gaps between your cargo and walls of the box with substances that can stop any jolting of the glass throughout shipment. Good way to do that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will stop possible jolting and protect your fragile cargo from cracking. Furthermore you need to wrap your cargo in bubble wrap, particularly all the parts that are thin and extra fragile. Tie the bubble wrap with Scotch tape just to be certain the bubble wrap won’t unfold during transport. When you finished wrapping, you should stuff all of the empty space left in the container – with Styrofoam or even pieces of cardboard.

If you have to move big pieces of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you ought to not only shield it from breaking, but also from fracturing. You could wrap the glass in thick sheet of bubble wrap, close it with Scotch tape and put it in a box. Do not forget to mention on top of the cardboard box that the package should be handled with care. You can also use pre-made stamps for fragile cargo.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} can be wrapped in outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to store them in a box so that they will not knock against each other while shipped. The same way you can ship porcelain and crystals. When dealing with large glass elements (like chandeliers) it is good to use an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or towels.

Price of glassware shipment varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, distance and delivery dates. Other price-defining aspect is whether or not you need expert packing materials as well as help securing the load.
