Glassware

When it comes to moving glassware, the hardest part is securing the load beforehand. In this case simple package will not be enough. You have to fill the space between your glassware and walls of the box with substances that will help to avoid movement of the glassware throughout shipment. Good way to ensure that is to use Styrofoam or spongy materials that will block potential jolting and protect your fragile cargo from damaging. Additionally you should wrap your load with bubble wrap, particularly all the parts that are thin and extra fragile. Secure the bubble wrap with Scotch tape to make certain it won’t loosen during shipment. When you finished covering, you need to stuff all of the empty space left in the box – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you need to move large items of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you have to not only shield it from breaking, but also from scratching. You need to surround the glassware with substantial layer of bubble wrap, tie it with adhesive tape and store it in a container. Remember to mention on top of the box that the container contains glassware. You could also use pre-made labels for delicate packages.

Small glassware (like glasses or bottles} may be wrapped in outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next step is to put them in a box so that they will not knock against each other during shipment. The same way you may transport porcelain and crystals. When transporting large glass items (like chandeliers) it is good to use an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or clothes.

Price of glass shipment is determined by weight and dimensions of the load, route lenght as well as delivery dates. Another price-defining factor is whether or not you need professional packing materials and assistance securing the cargo.
