Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only worth a lot, but also hard to protect while being transported. Though, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with transport we had gathered. It is doable to ship a motorbike or a scooter without problems, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the type of shipment. Owing to some helpful tricks you could avoid any damages, and dents that are likely to happen when a moped or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are shipping the motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp angles or elements that may possibly rip the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also feasible to transport a motorbike inside a truck. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorcycle resting safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing to be considered is installing the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the car and other objects that may be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or another vehicle, can help you ship your motorcycle not occupying the entire space in the car.

Check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be enough to ship your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a truck could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting your request on Clicktrans you can receive  multiple great offers from shipping providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
