Glassware

When it comes to shipping glass, the hardest part is packing the cargo before transport. In this case simple container will not ensure safe transport. You have to fill the gaps between your cargo and walls of the package with materials that can block any jolting of the glassware during transport. The best way to guarantee that is to use Styrofoam or spongy materials that will block potential jolting and therefore save your fragile cargo from cracking. Furthermore you can wrap your cargo in bubble foil, especially all the elements that are fine and extra fragile. Tie the bubble wrap with adhesive tape just to be certain it will not loosen during shipment. After wrapping, you need to fil all of the gaps in the box – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you have to ship large elements of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you need to not only secure it from breaking, but also from fracturing. You must wrap the glassware in substantial layer of bubble foil, tie it with adhesive tape and put it in a container. Remember to write on top of the package that the box should be handled with care. You can also use pre-made stamps for fragile cargo.

Smaller glassware (like glasses or bottles} may be secured by old newspapers, paper or even towels. Next step is to store them in a cardboard box so that they won't knock against each other during transport. In similar manner you can ship porcelain and crystals. When transporting bigger glass elements (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, for example sponge or towels.

Price of glassware shipment varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, route lenght as well as delivery days. Other price-defining factor is whether or not you want to use professional packing materials as well as assistance securing the load.
