Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only valuable, but also difficult to secure while being transported. However, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with transport we have gathered. It is doable to transport a motorcycle or a moped without obstacles, undoubtedly. The way you will secure it depends on the mean of transportation. Owing to some helpful advice you will prevent any scratches, and dents that could happen if a scooter or motorcycle is not properly cared for.

When you are transporting your motorbike using a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is dedicated for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only 2 belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth looking at the sharp angles or elements that may possibly rip the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also doable to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment obligatory to keep the motorcycle standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing worth considering will be installing the side pads to protect the insides of the car and other objects that might be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or another vehicle, can help you ship your motorbike not occupying the entire space in the van.

Do not forget to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to ship your motorcycle. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you will get  multiple great quotes from shipping providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can arrange the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
