Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a useful way of delivery of a not big cargo that does not demand a lot of space and may be usually placed on pallets. LTL takes advantage of spare space in the truck by combining several different cargos. Less than Truckload is cost-effective since companies are able to distribute the transportation costs with the others who also need to take a bit of the cargo space available in the car. LTL cargos ordinarily weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Trucks which are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 t and are required to be in accordance with the requirements constituted in a given country. There are many kinds of vehicles that are appropriate to be used in the LTL shipping, but they must be always correctly suited to the dimension of the products that are going to be delivered.

The price of the delivery depends on a few factors. First of all, magnitude and weight of the cargo. The principal need to also present a delivery man an information about the packaging. Don’t forget to mention what you wish to be included in the service – is it simply the transport or does it also consist of loading and unloading.

If it turns out that the cargo space available via the less than truckload does not suffice to transport your cargo, you should use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
